‘To Be His’ by Terri L. Austin is the 1.5 book number in the ” Beauty and the Brit” story. This book covers Trevor’s thought on meeting Allie and leaves you halfway through their story with his point of view. I actually read this book first by mistake so fir me this was a cliffhanger book but if you read the books in order as Good Read has them Book 1 ‘His Every Need’ covers they whole story with both point of views. I enjoyed this book and and ‘His Every Need’ book so much that I stayed up all night reading them. Allie is a strong character that is just trying to save her family that is going in all the wrong directions since her mother cancer death. Trevor is a bit harsh with her but we slowly learn he didn’t have a very loving childhood and was raised by his grandfather. The secondary characters were really good too!
‘His Every Need’ by Terri L. Austin is book one in the series “Beauty and the Brit”. This is the story of Allie Campbell and Trevor Blake. Allie is the oldest of three girls and has been helping to take care of her mother who had terminal cancer. Her father seems to have lost his way since he wife has gotten sick and died. Now Allie finds out that her father made a bad loan choice that put their house up to be sold. Allie goes to Trevor who is the one that loaned her father the money and is the one that is taking away their house. There Allie find that Trevor doesn’t care about her sad story nor will he give them a longer time frame to pay him back. Trevor makes an off remark about her selling her body to get money as a mean joke but she calls Trevor out on it and offers her body to him. Trevor thinks to scare her away with forceful sexual talk but she doesn’t back down. Now Trevor finds himself with her as his ‘mistress’ for a few months for her to bring her fathers bill to a zero balance. Allie was a strong character that just wanted to save her family that was going in all directions and not the right direction. Allie was attracted to Trevor and did feel that he was harsh in some of his words but she slowly started learning about his younger life that had made him who he turned into. Trevor did say really mean things to her at times that he quickly wanted to take back. Overall he was a good hero who was slow to except his feelings for her. I loved how he would tell his staff she was only her for a few days and each time he repeated that statement he kept adding days to it until he ended up with months. Also the secondary characters were so much fun although I didn’t care so much for Monica the middle sister as much as the other characters. I did a marathon read of this book and the next Novella book ‘To Be His’ and stayed up all night reading them both. To me they were that good…so today I am fight a book hangover but it was totally worth it! So if you like a strong, gets into your business heroine and a wounded, tough sounding and fight his feeling hero this one is for you. I can’t wait to read more of Ms. Austin books and this series!!
‘The Asset’ by Anna del Mar is book one in the “Wounded Warrior” series. This is the story of Lia Stewart and Ash Hunter. Lia has been hiding out in the Rocky Mountain cabin that her older friend had left for her. That friend happened to be Ash Hunter’s grandmother. Lia is trying to hid from a very abusive relationship and is on edge all the time. Lia posted a room for rent sign in town for what she was hoping would be a female room mate but Ash shows up scaring her at first. Ash was hurt very badly in the military and now just up and left the hospital so he is kind of on the run too. Lia end up taking him in after she learns how sick he is and that he was her friends grandson. Lia has a soft spot for wounded animals and Ash seems to fit right in with that. But Lia is having a hard time with her feeling up being scared around him and also scared that he might be put in danger just being around her.
This was sometimes hard to read book at the end when Lia went over her previous life. In addition Ash was facing some tough heath issue too. This book does have what I thought was a lot of drama and tough story subjects but that is what I understood what I was getting when I checked this book out. So I was not surprised or disappointed. Sometimes it is nice to get a more drama filled romance than my usually boy meets girl and girl falls for boy…then just a misunderstand holds them back…this was not that type of book. Lia was always scared for her feelings for Ash that he might be hurt by the person from her past. Enjoyed it overall ..exciting read.
I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. ‘Alexandr’s Cherished Submissive’ by Ann Mayburn is book three in the “Submissive’s Wish” series. I will say you might enjoy this book more if you have read the other books. I have loved this series so far so it will be no hardship for you to read the other books…you will love them too I think. This book shows us how Alexandr and Jessica meet and some of the earlier things that happened. This also lets us into some of the previous leading men’s life. This is a hot, emotional and round great roller coaster ride type of book I love.
I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. 3.5 Stars ‘Her Highland Rogue’ by Violetta Rand is book one in the “Wild Highland Guardian” series. This is story is about Aileana and Errol MacRae. Aileana was found when she was about 10 years old in the forest starved, cold and alone. She was taken in by the McRae and stayed there until one day one of the men tried to assault her. Aileana took off into the woods again. Now Error is told to go and look for her which Error is not all that excited to do. Error knows that his days of roaming are over since his father doesn’t seem to be in good health. Now he finds himself looking for Aileana when he would rather be enjoying a women. Although Errol and Aileana have lived in the same Highland Tribe they never really interacted enough to know one another. I defaulted to 3.5 stars because I thought Errol was not a manly Highlander that I like…he was somewhat young in thoughts/actions. But overall enjoyed the book.
