‘Why Do Dukes Fall in Love?’ is book four in the “Dukes Behaving Badly” series. This is the story of Michael, the Duke of Hadlow and Edwina Cheltam. I have been jumping in and out of this series, so for me this easily was a standalone book. Hadlow is a loner with only a dog and his servants. Hadlow finds people boring / dull and gets tired easily of talking to others. But he is in need of a secretary and hasn’t found one yet that he thinks he can put up with. Edwina is now a widow and mother of a six year old daughter. Edwina husband left her without any money and is in need of a job. So she goes to her friend who has a job placement business and asked for help. Edwina is set up to interview with Hadlow who quickly hires her and allows her daughter to move in with her since he wants his secretary to live at his house. They start of finding out that each other are both witty, smart and that they become friends of sort…I would guess you say. Then their attraction start to take over…which leads to and added complication to their already odd friendship/business arrangement. I really enjoyed this book and could not put it it down! I am now looking for more in this series. I received this book in exchange for an honest review. https://www.amazon.com/gp/profile/A2HX0B5ELOPP5Z?ie=UTF8&ref_=sv_ys_3 https://www.facebook.com/sally.mae.395454 http://booklikes.com/ https://romancebookreviewforyou.wordpress.com/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/1709181636033417/ https://twitter.com/soapsrus68
‘This Earl is on Fire’ by Vivienne Lorret is book two in the “Season’s Original” series. This is the story of Miss Adeline Pimm and Liam Cavanaugh. I have not yet read the previous book so for me this was a standalone book. Although after enjoying this one I do want to get that previous book called ‘The Debutante Is Mine’. Liam was a playboy, rouge and after being hurt by a women when he was young now also makes him a man trying to avoid marriage. But sometimes you have to be ‘knocked over the head’ to find that special someone. Which is what kind of happened…. Liam was found by Adeline and her parents outside their door of the house they were renting. They quickly took him in to help him. Adeline felt a quick connection with him that she did not want to feel. Adeline has it set in her mind that she will not marry and does not want to find her love as she thinks because of a limp she would be treated like her parents treat her. That she can’t do anything and needs to be protected. So this starts their love of each one not wanting to fall for the other one but not able to stay away from each other either. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more of Ms. Lorrets books. I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. https://www.amazon.com/gp/profile/A2H… https://www.facebook.com/sally.mae.39… http://booklikes.com/ https://romancebookreviewforyou.wordp… https://www.facebook.com/groups/17091… https://twitter.com/soapsrus68
‘Fallen’ by Devyn Quinn is book two in the “Kith & Kynn” series. This is the story of Adrien Roth and Cassie Wilson. I have read the previous book but feel this can be read without the other if you want too. Adrien used to be a hunter of Vampires until two vampires came to him seeking revenge for a killing of a female vampire he had done. Their revenge was to turn him into a vampire like them and they female vampire who sister he killed held him as a slave for years and years. Now in the present day Adrien has killed on of the people that turned him and now is seeking to harm the other. But along the way he meets Cassie who he help save from a abusive boyfriend/date. Cassie is rich, alone and has heath issue that make it hard for her to live what life she has. But then she meets Adrien and is attracted to him as he is to her. But they both have thing that they are dealing with that will more than likely end their lives…so they try not to become involved. I overall liked this book but I will confess that I enjoyed the first one just a little better. I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. 4.5 Stars ‘Loving Doctor Vincent’ by Renea Mason is book three in “The Good Doctor Trilogy”. This continues the story of Elaine, Xavier, Marco and Sebastian. I would say to enjoy this story and book you need to read the other books in this series. This book picks up with Elaine learning more about the Society and what part she played in it. We get to watch the story unfold and find out the missing pieces for Xavier and Elaine. We also see how the relationship is going for Elaine, Xavier, Marco and Sebastian…which I enjoyed. This story had great mystery and Pollyanna love story that I greatly enjoyed.
