‘When a Marquis Chooses a Bride’ by Ella Quinn is book two in “The Worthingtons” series. This is the story of Dominic, the Marquis of Merton ‘Dom’ and Dorothea Stern ‘Dotty/Thea’. I have read the previous book ‘Three Weeks To Wed’ which focused on Lady Grace Carpenter and Matt, Earl of Worthington. Matt is the cousin of Dom and Grace is friends with Dotty (actually Grace’s sister and Dotty are best friends) but this book is easily a stand alone book. It does have Matt and Grace (the whole family) in this book but they are secondary characters. Just from personal enjoyment I would say read that book, just so you don’t miss a ‘good read’. Dom father died at an early age which left his mother grief stricken and also cause her to miscarriage so Dom was left for a while in the care of his Uncle (Mother’s brother) who had certain ways and beliefs that he force on Dom. One being that he could only marry some on on his level or above, that women were meant to be taken care of and not burden with problems. In addition some of his Uncle political views were against the poor and helpless. So this pretty much made Dom an outside to his friends and family as his Uncle pretty much kept him away from anyone he thought was not Dom equal. Dom has now decided to marry and do his duty. He has made a list which he sent to him mother. His mother realized that she needed to intervene behind the scene to get him with a lady that would turn him into a better man. The man that his father would have wanted him to be. Dotty has come to England to have her season. Dotty was invited by her friends older sister Grace to stay with them. Dotty has a very soft heart and is always taking in strays and helping the lesser person. When Dom and Dotty meet they are both attracted to one another but Dotty friends tell of how Dom is very ‘High In His Step’ and would not be a man for her. Dom find that Dotty (or Thea to him) is the only women he is attracted to..but he thinks in ranking she is beneath him. In addition he see how she seems to get into issue and places that she shouldn’t..which could cause a scene. But we watch how to opposites attract. How love can change people and views. Sorry for the long review as I don’t like to do long ones but this book was just so good it is hard to stop talking about it!!!! Can’t wait for the next one!
I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review.
‘Kassandra’s Wolf by Leilani Love is the story of Damien and Kassandra. This is book three in the “The Dragon Ruby”Series. I just have to stay that I have read all of Ms. Love’s book and I am crazy about everyone of them. Also, this book can be a standalone so if you haven’t read the others you will be okay. I was just so happy to see this new book out and had to read it as soon as I could. I could not put this book down! Damien and his twin sister are both very close after loosing their parents. Damien ended up opening up a bar and became a ‘ladies man’. Damien never really thought he would have any strong feelings for a women/mate after how hard his sister had it when her mate appeared to have betrayed them. But when he sees Kassandra ‘Kat’ he is completely drawn to her and taken in by her. Kat is a Dragon Guard who is trying to get information on why Damien is meeting Dragon Prince Dmitri. Kat goes undercover hiding her dragon to pretend to be just a women falling for Damien charms. Damien falls for her trick and Kat goes through drugging him to search his bar apartment. I so enjoyed seeing these two come together. I enjoyed meeting Hope Damien’s sister and the other secondary characters. I can’t wait for more books by Ms. Love!! ‘As Twilight Falls’ by Amaznda Ashley is the story of Kadie Andrews and Rylan Saintcrow. I actually was reading another book called “Twilight Dreams” that had Kadie and Rylan in there as secondary characters. I was halfway through that book when I just kept thinking I really want to read Rylan and Kadie book too. So I found this one ‘As Twilight Falls’ with their story. I was not disappointed at all. I enjoyed this book just as I thought I would! Kadie is a photographer that happen to take a wrong turn and ended up in Rylan’s ‘ghost town’ that host a few vampires and humans who they feed off of. Rylan has actually been underground for about 30 years when he ‘smells’ Kadie in his town. Rylan can’t resist her and quickly takes her to is house. There Kadie starts to have feeling for him and she ends up making him more ‘feeling’ with other people treatment. So if you like a tough heroine with a tough guy hero that is all soft inside for his women…then this one is for you! Truly enjoyed this book and was happy to get back to my other book ‘Twilight Dreams’ and finished reading that one also. Both were great. https://www.amazon.com/gp/profile/A2H… https://www.facebook.com/sally.mae.39… https://www.facebook.com/groups/17091… http://booklikes.com/ https://romancebookreviewforyou.wordp… https://twitter.com/soapsrus68
‘If The Earl Only Knew’ by Amanda Forester is book one in the “The Daring Marriages” series. This is the story of Lady Katherine Ashton and John the Earl of Wynbrook. This story got you end from the first few pages. We learned that Katherine and her twin brother had to struggle after their father died leaving debts. They pretty much it seem had to raise themselves and fight to get back from under such hardship. Katherine’s brother did start a friendship with John’s younger brother. Their Katherine overheard John talking bad about her to his brother. Katherine still hold that against him in the present day along with a kiss that they had shared back during that time too. But Katherine hopes only to be in London for just a few weeks while they settle up their debits and pay off the people that loan them money to start their business. It was fun to watch how they had to over come how they felt about each other in their presumption of each other. I just can’t wait to see a story about her brother…he looks to be a good read too! I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
