‘Body of The Crime” by R. Scarlett is book Two in the “Blackest Gold” series. [book:Body of The Crime|33550282] This continues the story of Molly and Tensley from book One “Vein Of Love “. Yes, this book does end with a cliffhanger that sets us up for the Third Installment into this series. Please don’t let that stop you from taking part into this series. I have fallen in love with this series and Ms. Scarlett writing. Ms. Scarlett’s writing is somewhat different then some of the books I read…which is a nice change. This story has the strong male that is somewhat damaged in the fact that he doesn’t think he can love anyone but does want Molly so much. Molly is the strong female that wants Tensley but also wants her life to be hers. Molly and Tensley have a lot to overcome and you just find yourself holding your breath for what is to come. I have been waiting for this next installment and when I received it I read it until I finished it at 3:00am. I am that in love with this series! We pick up where Molly and Tensley are finding that they are heavily attracted to one another but Tensley has not ‘claimed’ her yet. Tensley seems to not want to ruin her life which he seems to think will happen if he does ‘claim’ her. Molly is getting used to her new strength and trying to make up for what she did to Tensley in the last book. Molly wants to win back Tensley trust and to do that she thinks she has to fix what she did to him. Tensley does still feel hurt/betrayed by Molly’s actions but does want to keep her safe too. In addition to all of that they are still having to deal with family, a past relationship and not to mention the people behind Tensley. I will be biting my nails waiting for the next installment!! “My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.”

But her ‘brothers’ on the streets took her in and started to keep her safe and isolated from other people. Now in the present day she is wanting to get some freedom and try to overcome some of her past. On an accidentally meeting when Robert was pretty drunk he ended up in Helena room. Can these two overcome that past that changed both of their lives to more forward to a happy ending? Juilet does take the job as Governess for his sister with the understanding that if she can turn them into ladies then she can have her cottage back. But the more they get to know each other things start to change for each of them as to what they really want. Another really great read by Ms. Caldwell!
‘Always Proper, Suddenly Scandalous’ is book Three in the “Scandalous Seasons” series. This is the story of Geoffrey Winters, Viscount Redbrooke and Miss Abigail Stone. Geoffrey made a mistake years ago that he felt cost his father his life. Geoffrey had fallen in love with someone that was after his title and money which had his father come to save him from this mistake but was ultimately killed in an accident. This has lead Geoffrey to take on a strong motto of not causing any scandal and to only marry a lady that is proper and fits his need for everything proper now. So Geoffrey thinks Lady Beatrice Dennington would be the perfect wife for him. But her cousin from America named Abigail Stone is causing him to have feelings for her even though he sees that she is everything opposite of what he thinks he wants. This was a book I couldn’t put down…loved it.
‘Forever Betrothed, Never the Bride’ by Christi Caldwell is book one in the “Scandalous Seasons” series. This is the story of Lady Emmaline Fitzhugh and Lord Drake. Emmaline and Drake have been betrothed since they were really young. Their fathers were friends and had set their betrothed up, but since then Emmaline father has died. Drake went off War after being upset about being forced into a betrothed. When he came back he was a changed man…the war had been very tragic and horrifying to him. Causing him to have nightmares and to ‘zone out’ somewhat. So since coming back he has avoided marrying Emmaline which is making her into a spinster. Emmaline goes forth to try and force his hand into marrying her or to either let her go. But the more they start to interact the more they start to have actually feelings. Once I read this book I had to read the whole series in a marathon read!
‘Once a Wallflower, At Last His Love’ by Christi Caldwell is book six in the “Scandalous Season”. This is the story of Miss Hermione Rogers and Sebastian Fitzhugh, the 5th Duke of Mallen. Hermione has been taking over caring for her family since her mother has died and this has left their father rather lost in his thoughts. So to earn money she has started writing a book to help also take care of her older sister who due to a illness has been left a child’s mind but in a women’s body. In addition she is being made to try and make a match from a wealthy man to help support her family. Sebastian is finding Hermione to be a distraction and a mystery. With Ms. Caldwelll writing she takes you on a emotional journey with her books and this one was no different. Loved It.
