‘The Daring Duke’ by Jess Michaels is the First book in the “The 1797 Club”. This is this is the story of James, Duke of Abernathe and Miss Emma Liston. The 1797 Club was started by James and his friends at school in the year 1797. The club is to help fellow Dukes grow into their position and to continue to help each other. They formed the Club after they saw how Jame’s father treated and berated him. James didn’t have a great childhood and has sworn off marrying anyone. Emma is a Wallflower who also has an upsetting family life. When Emma steps up to help Jame’s sister Meg, it opens James up to helping Emma which started with a dance. Meg is taken with Emma and they become fast friends. Which has lead Meg to invite Emma to her house. This leads to James getting to know Emma better. This will supposedly be helping Emma gain attentions of single men with the end result that will lead to marriage. James is starting to find that Emma is different from other women he has known. This was another hot and exciting read by Ms. Michael’s!

Claiming Grace

Review:

Claiming Grace - Susan Stoker

‘Claiming Grace’ by Susan Stoker is book One in the “Ace Security” series.  This is the story of  Logan and Grace.   Logan and Grace were friends back in the day.  Grace was Logan’s tutor but they became friends.  Then when Logan and his brother’s  (they are triplets) graduated the up and left.  Logan nor his brothers were gone for about 10 years.  But they are back now after their mother killed their father and then killed herself.  We find that they grew up with an abusive mother and that being the reason they left.  But now they are feeling guilty for their father’s death and that his father didn’t feel he had a place to got to or reach out to about the abuse.  So the brother decide to return home and start Ace Security to help those in need  in honor of their father.   Now that he is back home he has been avoiding Grace and she has been doing the same.  We find that now Grace is the one in trouble with controlling parents who won’t let her out of their site and have touch on physical restraints and emotional abuse.  I really enjoyed this book and how the brothers wanted to help other which in turned helped them to start moving forward.  Grace was strong even though her parents tried to take her down.  Emotional abuse is very hard to get over and get past but with Logan’s help she was slowly making it.

Dishonorable

Review:

Dishonorable - Natasha Knight

‘Dishonorable ‘ by Natasha Knight is the story of Raphael and Sofia. Please be warned this is a Dark Romance so if you are looking for Hearts and Flowers this isn’t your book. Although I love my Hearts and Flowers books… I always love a Dark Romance. I love how the Male is strong but broken who seems to know only hurt and tries to keep that attitude up when he finds the women who he doesn’t understand. A women who is strong yet gentle…who has the man turn around his way of thinking and acting.
This book was that for me. Raphael is a broken man who has put up with his father’s abuse of him and his mother. So much so that he was put in jail for six years for killing his father in self defense. Now Raphael has one thing in mind and that is revenge of the people that hurt this family. One of those people being Sofia’s Grandfather . Sofia is a sweet girl just graduating from school and learns that her Grandfather has set in motion for her to marry Raphael. Sofia has never met Raphael other than one time when she came home from school break to see him arguing with her Grandfather. Now she is to be married to Raphael to settle a debt. Sofia has her struggles too after her parents died which left her Grandfather in charge of their lives.
Sofia tries to stay strong and go forward with this marriage but can she grow to understand the hurt behind Raphael and his actions? Will Raphael see something more than revenge in Sofia?
I must say I loved Raphael and Sofia’s brother and sister and hope they get together. I am hoping that will be the next book…Fingers Crossed!
